Misty Cottage: Winter 2016 Magnolia

(Another post comes 6 months late…)

One of my personal little joys each day is to look out the window from my desk and watch the seasonal changes of the front garden – particularly of an old magnolia. Every stage is beautiful, from the first flowerings in late winter, through the thick and leafy green summer, to the Autumnal colour changes and orange carpet of leaves below. I’m sure the same can be said of any tree, but the mass flowering and the gnarling branches are what makes these particularly striking.

  1. How beautiful! I have a magnolia too, but it’s only a young one. I think it might flower for the first time next year. I hope one day it will look like yours.

      Thank you!
I guess they need a good many decades, but I guess that’s the point of trees – to plant them for the future. πŸ™‚
